I firmly believe that our children are our future, always have. I also believe that education is the best gift we can give them. We need to ensure our kids have the skills necessary to be successful in the career of their choosing. Being an educator and school board director puts me in a unique position to make that happen for our Avon Grove students.

Over the past 5 years, the Board and administration have invested time and resources to partner with our teachers to improve the curriculum; and we’ve begun to see a return on that investment: improving achievement.

But we’re not finished yet. It’s now time to make sure we have the functional space for the teachers to teach the curriculum. Three of our buildings have modular classrooms because they are over-crowded. We have developed a building plan that is fiscally sound, covers both short-term and long-term goals, that when fully implemented, should last Avon Grove students for a very long time. Educating our youth should be something we can all get behind, after all, our future depends on them.

ENGEL
As a school board director for the past 9 years, I have dedicated myself to ensuring our local students have access to the highest quality educational experiences. I have also provided careful oversight of the District’s financial resources and can attest that taxpayers' contributions have been managed with fidelity and responsibility, and have been thoughtfully allocated to support our schools.

I am seeking re-election on the school board so that I can ensure that our much needed and overdue facilities project is seen through with integrity. As a centerpiece and point of pride for our community, the new high school will provide a top-notch facility for our students and community now, and for generations to come.  As a school board director for an additional term, I would also be committed to the renovation and reconfiguration plan for the current high school to house our middle school students in a refurbished 21st-century learning environment.

If re-elected as a school board director, I will also continue to promote a course of instruction that provides students the essential skills and knowledge necessary to be successful adults and contributing members of society.
EXPERIENCE. COMMITMENT. IMPACT.
